Now Enrolling for 2023-2024!

Our School Story

KKCA is a privately owned and operated early childhood education facility for children 12 months-5 years of age and is fully licensed by OKDHS.  KKCA was founded and established in 2007 with the belief that young children and their families needed a better alternative than the traditional daycare model.  While exploring the options available for my own children, the options I found were sadly lacking in educational opportunities that supported and encouraged my children to grow while I was at work.  So, the decision was made to step away from the corporate world to introduce a new common-sense, research-supported early childhood educational model to our community.

Our early childhood model focuses on establishing the foundational support that every child needs first; acceptance, safety and compassion.  This is accomplished only when teachers intentionally invest the time and emotions needed to build a secure and consistent relationship with each child and their family.  Our families assist with developing this relationship for their child and the relationships of other children by providing consistent, routine attendance and consistent open communication with their child's teachers. Just as each child is unique so is the timeframe each child needs for this foundation to be built.

Once a child establishes this relationship with his/her teacher that allows the child to feel accepted, safe and loved then and only then is the child ready to learn, retain and build on new information and skills.  Not from video games or screen-time, but directly from their peers and their teachers as they're introduced to lessons that encourage children to explore the world around them utilizing all five-senses while developing new fine-motor, gross-motor, life and social skills that support their grade levels, interests and capabilities ahead.

Our toddler through two's classrooms focus on the individual development of each child while introducing them to opportunities for messy play, imaginative play, communication skills, potty training, social skills and early letter/phonics/colors/shape recognition using Zoo Phonics in our two-year old classroom.  This prepares our incoming Jr. Pre-K students for more concentrated academics in letter and number recognition, phonics and early handwriting while promoting a learning environment of exploratory and imaginative play.  Our Pre-K then introduces students to more handwriting, sight words, early arithmetic, Twig Science, phonemic awareness and social skills such as problem solving, communication and collaboration among their classmates.  Students at all levels are provided with daily opportunities for music/movement, recess, process and project-based art as well as special guests throughout the school year such as The Queen Bee, MadScience, City of Moore Police and Firefighters, Finer Arts of Oklahoma, Skeleton Museum, Animal Presentations and also presentations from area dentists and medical practices!

In addition to the academic nature of our program, our school heavily encourages parent involvement through classroom volunteer opportunities and our Parent Teacher Organization.

For families who are considering alternative elementary educational options for their children after they graduate KKCA's Pre-K program; Bloom Academy is our STEM-based, Montessori-inspired private school; a continuation of the educational foundations built while at KKCA www.bloomacademykids.com

We recognize and appreciate the great difficulty when choosing the school, environment and teachers that your children will be learning from while you're away at work.  Choosing the right fit for your family and your child is the largest investment you'll make when your children are young.  The gravity of this decision is never taken for granted with KKCA as we continue year after year to build a stronger program that after 16 years remains focused on the individual needs of each child and the relationship we build with each one of them and their families.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering and choosing KKCA and Bloom Academy to be such an integral part of your child's daily life and academic future.
